INTERNATIONAL
Current Work in Africa
It is felt that Nissi's response to the crisis in Africa, where AIDS and TB are rampaging, should be primarily in prayer. These epidemics are currently out of medical control: only God can turn them round and restore the countries. In addition to stimulating intercessory prayer, governments are to be challenged to bring their countries in line with God's covenant. The Lord will speak peaceto his people and to his saints, but let them not turn back to folly. Psalm 85, v 8.
So alongside the prayer, is a push towards prevention, which must be undergirded by prayer to be effective.
A Prayer Corridor for this purpose runs from Uganda through Zambia and ultimately to South Africa. So far visits have been made to:
- February/March 2001: Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania
- June 2001: Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania
- September 2004: South Africa, and Swaziland.
- July 2006: Swazilan Crusade with Bishop Wale Oke of Nigeria
- June 2007 return visit to Uganda
The cost for each trip is around £1000, and finance would be welcome
