THE VISION
In 1985 and 1986, the Lord gave vision of the health service that He wanted, one that would minister to men and women in the whole of their being, into their spirits and their soul, as well as their bodies. This health service would demonstrate the gospel of total salvation and would expect to see miracles of restoration, deliverance and healing. It would be a Christian health service, putting Jesus Christ back at the centre, a place currently usurped by humanism, the 'quality of life' ethic, intellectualism, and the occult.
'Nissi is committed to upholding the sanctity of life and the sanctity of marriage.'
The name is taken from Jehoval Nissi 'The Lord is our Banner' Exodus Ch 17:15.
Nissi was established with the objective of raising the banner of the Lord Jesus Christ in the arena of the health service.
The International work is underpinned by the same principles.

ORIGIN
Nissi was established in 1987-1990 to see the reestablishment of biblical principles in health care provision.
Since then Nissi has operated in the fields of family planning & contraception, with women's services and counselling operating within biblical principles. A clinic in Croydon offered these services 1987 1990. Training in these areas continued up until 1996, with approval from the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists. There is an Overseas Associate Membership.
The National Health Service was set up in 1948 by a government take-over of all existing health care facilities, nearly all of which had been started by the church. In 1998, it was the fiftieth anniversary of the National Health Service and, as government after government fails to find a lasting solution to the problems of the N.H.S., we see the urgency of searching for God's directives and re-establishing Jesus as Lord over all health care provision. The government's White Paper of Dec 97 went a long way to replace the pressure of financial and efficiency outcome by measures of quality of care for the individual patient. The NHS Plan of 2000 certainly looks to improve care and extend service, and we welcome the considerable resources that are now planned to redevelop the NHS.
It was felt that we should develop a stronger prayer network with a view to seeing high level government and Department of Health decisions turn towards more Godly directions.
Nissi is financed by voluntary donations and membership fees. Visit the Support Us page.
PLANS
Nissi is looking to promote the principles of Biblical standards within the medical and health service. We hope that in the not too distant future a hospital in London based on Christian principles will be founded.
In addition there are overseas trips planned to Africa.
See International page for more details.
